Data Entry Operator
About the role
As a Data Entry Operator, you will turn information from approved source records into clear, accurate and organised digital records. Your work will include entering information, checking existing entries, identifying inconsistencies and keeping records ready for authorised use.
This is a remote role open to applicants worldwide.
Your responsibilities
Enter and update information in spreadsheets and business systems using the agreed field names, formats and instructions.
Compare names, reference numbers, dates and amounts with the source before completing an entry.
Check records for missing information, typing errors, inconsistent formats and possible duplicates.
Flag unclear or conflicting information and obtain clarification from the appropriate person before making a correction.
Use spreadsheet tools such as sorting, filtering, formatting and basic formulas to organise and check information.
Maintain clear file names, version references and correction notes so that work can be followed and reviewed.
Handle personal and business information carefully, using approved systems and sharing it only with authorised people.
Keep track of assigned work, communicate progress and raise any issue that could affect accuracy or a deadline.
Review completed work against the source and any required record counts before handing it over.
How you will work
The role requires sustained attention to detail, consistent record handling and clear communication. Work carefully at a steady pace, follow the instructions provided for each task and ask for clarification whenever the source information is incomplete or unclear. Accuracy and confidentiality remain essential when handling routine or time sensitive work.
